ServiceNow Functional and Technical Expert – ITSM

Job Description: 

We are seeking a highly skilled ServiceNow Functional and Technical Expert with a strong background in ITSM modules to support our enterprise ServiceNow platform. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in the analysis, design, development, and implementation of ServiceNow solutions, working collaboratively with business stakeholders and technical teams.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Functional Expertise:

Engage with stakeholders to gather and document requirements for ITSM processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Request, CMDB, Knowledge, etc.).
Translate business needs into ServiceNow functional requirements and workflows.
Configure and customize ITSM applications using best practices to ensure scalable, maintainable solutions.
Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for ITIL-based processes within ServiceNow.

 

Technical Expertise:

Design and implement ServiceNow solutions, including workflows, business rules, UI policies, client scripts, and integrations.
Develop and maintain custom applications and modules on the ServiceNow platform using JavaScript, REST APIs, and ServiceNow Studio.
Manage upgrades, patches, and performance optimization of the ServiceNow platform.
Ensure security, compliance, and governance for all developed ServiceNow functionalities.

 

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
5+ years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow, including at least 3 years focused on ITSM.
Strong understanding of ITIL framework; ITIL v4 Foundation certification preferred.
Proven experience in configuring and customizing core ITSM applications.
Proficiency in scripting (JavaScript, Glide API), REST/SOAP web services, and MID Server integrations.
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) required.
ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – ITSM preferred.

 

Preferred Skills:

Experience with CMDB, Discovery, and integrations with third-party tools (e.g., Jira, SCCM, Azure AD).
Knowledge of ServiceNow platform areas like HRSD, CSM, or SecOps is a plus.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
